Arrival in Thailand
- You’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel or accommodation.
- APS can arrange this for you, or you can choose a preferred place to stay nearby.
Consultation & Medical Check-Ups
- Meet Dr. Ae and the APS surgical team for your pre-op consultation.
- You’ll undergo a medical evaluation and meet with a psychiatrist for the required Thai gender dysphoria certificate.
- This day sets the foundation for a personalized and safe surgical plan.
Surgery Day
- You’ll be admitted to the hospital on the morning of surgery.
- Depending on the technique, hospital stay is:
- Skin Graft SRS: 4 nights
- Colon SRS (including laparoscopic): 5–6 nights
- Penile-Peritoneal SRS (PPV): 6 nights
The First Two Weeks: Post-Surgery Healing & Care
Discharge & Hotel Recovery
- After surgery, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for continued rest and healing.
- APS nurses will visit daily to clean wounds, change dressings, and monitor your progress.
Bandages Off
- Skin Graft SRS: bandages are removed on Day 7
- Colon/PPV SRS: bandages are removed on Day 6
Follow-Up Visits
- Day 14: You’ll return to APS Clinic for a comprehensive follow-up with the team.
- Final Check: One day before your flight home, another follow-up ensures you’re recovering well and fit to travel.
Support Throughout Your SRS Recovery
- Optional upgrade to a Service Package with a personal driver, accommodation, and full concierge support
- Daily nurse care during hotel recovery
- Personal liaison (optional) to assist with communication, errands, or emotional support
- WhatsApp check-ins and 24/7 contact with the APS team
- The next morning, they’re transferred to their accommodation of choice to continue recovery comfortably — no hospitalization needed.
Realistic Expectations: What to Feel During SRS Recovery
- Mild pain and swelling are normal the first 7–10 days
- Sitting for long periods may be uncomfortable for the first 2–3 weeks
- Sensation begins to return gradually, depending on the technique

Can You Combine SRS with Other Surgeries?
Yes — many patients combine their SRS with Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) or breast augmentation. However, for safety reasons, these surgeries are not performed in the same session. Patients seeking a full transition often plan a longer stay in Thailand (4–6 weeks) to accommodate staged procedures with proper recovery time between them.
